We have quite a number of events at St Mary’s this Christmas. Here is a list. All events are at St Mary’s unless otherwise indicated. More details to follow.

St Mary’s Players 60th Anniversary Concert
The St Mary’s Players, a musical theatre group which started at St Mary’s Church, are celebrating their 60th anniversary with a concert at the church. 21st November, 8:00pm. Entrance by programme (£5).

St Mary’s Flower Festival: 5th – 8th September 2019

After a long period in abeyance, the St Mary’s Flower Festival is back! The theme for this event is ‘The Church Year’, and St Mary’s will be filled with floral displays. The church will be open at the following times:
Thursday 5th 11.00am – 4.00pm
Friday 6th 10.00am – 4.00pm
Saturday 7th 10.00am – 4.00pm with lots of things to do for all ages.
Sunday 8th is our Patronal Festival, and there will be special services at 10am and 4pm, led by Revd Brian Curnew, our former vicar. The church will be open between these services.
Entrance to the festival will by programme, at a cost of £5. The event is in aid of the organ appeal. For more details of the organ appeal and to donate, see here.

Easter Concert
On Tuesday 9th April at 7:30 pm, there will be a concert of Easter music sung by the Saint George Singers at St Mary’s, in aid of the St Mary’s Organ Appeal. The full programme is available here, and includes excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, and works by Byrd, Tallis, Wesley and John Rutter. It promises to be an excellent evening of music in a excellent cause, and we would love to see you there!
Ash Wednesday – 6th March
Ash Wednesday in 2019 falls on the 6th March. There will be an Ash Wednesday Eucharist at St Mary’s at 10am, and an EBP Joint Service at St Ambrose, Whitehall at 7:30pm.
Carols in the Park – 19th December 6:30pm.
Come and sing Christmas Carols in Fishponds Park (next to St Mary’s churchyard) with St Mary’s and other local churches, accompanied by a Salvation Army band! Followed by mulled wine in St Mary’s.
Sunday 30th December – EBP service 10.15 a.m.
On Sunday 30th December, we will not be having a morning service at St.Mary’s, instead we will be having an EBP service (East Bristol Partnership) at St.John’s Church, Lodge Causeway, Fishponds. The service will start at 10.15 a.m. All are welcome. There will not be Evensong on 30th December either.
Christmas Day Service – 10.00 a.m.
Come and join us at our Christmas morning service with communion as we celebrate Jesus’ birth. The service starts at 10.00 a.m. All are most welcome.
Christmas Eve – Midnight Mass – 11.30 p.m.
Come and celebrate the first Eucharist of Christmas at our Midnight mass as we celebrate Jesus’ birth. The service starts at 11.30 p.m., all are welcome.
